TVP Steel – Vietnam Trade Fair 2018 in Cambodia

The Vietnam Trade Fair 2018 with the theme "Friendship, Cooperation and Development" organized by the Ministry of National Defense in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and the Ministry of National Defense and Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia, opened this morning (November 7) at the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center, Phnom Penh, Kingdom of Cambodia.

The fair aims to support Vietnamese enterprises to promote trade, investment, export products and services to the Cambodian market, and at the same time open up the possibility of exporting Vietnamese goods to ASEAN countries.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, Deputy Minister of National Defense, emphasized that this fair is held on the occasion of Cambodia celebrating its 65th National Day (November 9, 1953 - November 9, 2018). On behalf of the leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, the Deputy Minister sent the warmest congratulations to the leaders and people of Cambodia. Wishing Cambodia continued development, its position increasingly enhanced in the international arena, and its people a prosperous and prosperous life.

Regarding the Vietnam-Cambodia economic and trade cooperation, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don said that currently, the bilateral trade turnover between the two countries has reached 3.8 billion USD. Vietnam has more than 200 enterprises with about 206 investment projects in Cambodia. During the investment process, many Vietnamese enterprises have risen to the leading position in the industry such as: TVP Steel Joint Stock Company, Viettel Military Industry and Telecommunications Group, Vietnam Rubber Industry Group, Vietnam Airlines, Angkor Milk.

Vietnam Trade Fair 2018 was held on an area of ​​10,000 m2, with 200 booths of more than 150 Vietnamese and Cambodian enterprises. Here, many products and services in the fields of telecommunications, banking, textiles, footwear, handicrafts, food, processed food, electricity-electronics, mechanics, chemicals, construction materials, fertilizers, plant varieties, animal feed, veterinary medicine, etc. are displayed and introduced.

At the ceremony, Sam Serei Rath, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia, said that the quality of Vietnamese goods and services has been constantly improved over the years. Cambodian consumers have positively received products made in Vietnam. At the same time, he affirmed that the economic and trade cooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam is currently developing strongly, contributing to bringing practical benefits to consumers.

Within the framework of the Fair taking place from November 7 to 11, there will also be exhibition activities, introducing images of the traditional friendship between the people of Vietnam and Cambodia; displaying some typical images of the Vietnam People's Army participating in labor production and economic development of the country.
