Nguyen Van Duoc, Secretary of the Long An Provincial Party Committee, expressed gratitude to businesses for their support in helping the province “overcome rough waters” in 2024 and achieve numerous accomplishments.
On the afternoon of February 7, Long An Province hosted a New Year gathering with provincial leaders, diplomatic agencies, associations, and local businesses to celebrate the Year of the Snake 2025.
Delivering a collective message to businesses, Nguyen Van Ut – Chairman of the Long An People's Committee – reiterated the consistent message of “accompanying and developing with businesses,” which the province has upheld over the years.
“We always see businesses as partners, working together for mutual development. As Secretary Nguyen Van Duoc has frequently emphasized, Long An remains committed to supporting and resolving any difficulties businesses may face within our jurisdiction,” Mr. Ut affirmed.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc – Secretary of the Long An Provincial Party Committee – also thanked enterprises for consistently accompanying the province and choosing Long An as a destination for their growth.
Mrs. Ninh Thi Bich Thuy – Vice President of the Long An Business Association and General Director of TVP Steel JSC – was also in attendance.
“2024 was an incredibly challenging year. But we can say that we have successfully navigated the storm and achieved many outstanding milestones. These accomplishments are the result of strong cooperation and support from businesses. We hope everyone will continue to walk alongside Long An,” Mr. Duoc shared.
In 2024, Long An remained one of the most attractive destinations for investors in Vietnam. The province established 2,302 new businesses (a 31.8% year-on-year increase), with a total registered capital of VND 23,233 billion (up 6.5%). To date, the province has 19,515 registered businesses, with total registered capital reaching VND 392,709 billion.
The province issued investment certificates for 57 domestic projects with newly registered capital of VND 175,313 billion and adjusted capital for 33 projects, increasing by an additional VND 4,368 billion. In total, there are 2,250 domestic projects with registered capital of VND 474,578 billion.
Notably, 104 new FDI projects were granted investment certificates, with newly registered capital exceeding USD 507 million. Long An currently hosts 1,377 FDI projects, with total registered capital of USD 12.6 billion. Among these, 635 projects have become operational, with total invested capital reaching USD 4.2 billion.
Long An also made a leap from 10th place in the 2022 PCI (Provincial Competitiveness Index) ranking to 2nd place in 2023, achieving its highest score to date with 70.94 points (an 8-rank increase from 2022).
In the 2023 Provincial Green Index (PGI), Long An also made significant progress, jumping 16 places from 2022 to rank 12th in 2023.
